Our commitment to sustainability

Sustainability is a critical part of any successful business, and we consider the awareness of environment impact an integral step in the right direction. BoxGrove have implemented conscious sustainable methods with high expectations of ourself to continue to evolve in a way that puts the longevity of our planet first.

Rest has been created on the premise that the majority of the accommodation is self contained, and sustainable in nature. Our three main targets for sustainability for Rest are utilising home grown and local produce, harnessing renewable energy, and implementing reduced paper usage methods.

We are always striving to be better, and welcome suggestions for future improvements so we can continue to head in the right direction.

We utilise produce from our own gardens to supply the rooms at Rest, and bring in goodies from the best in the local area to support small community businesses with the ultimate aim to reduce the transport, congestion and pollution associated with large manufacturers.

Some local names include Renzaglia Wines, The Grange Distillery, PebblyBath Chocolate, Trunkey Bacon and Pork, 3 Veg Farm.

Two large instalments of solar panels have recently been installed to run Rest and move towards harnessing additional energy for us to utilise throughout The Barn and Luxe.

The instalment produces 36kwh renewable energy and 70kwh of battery storage. We encourage guests to keep their usage to a minimum so we can continue solar usage without needing to use our backup generator.

You will not find any paper in our suites, except for a special little book we encourage guests to sign and leave messages or details of their favourite parts of Rest or the local area in general for other guests to enjoy.

Our staff will utilise digital methods for all other business requirements, and we have implemented QR codes to provide introductions and more information to guests.
